Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 29, 2026 · Last updated: September 28, 2026
My Progress Bar ("we," "us," or "our") is the publisher of the My Progress Bar mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Privacy and legal requests: support@myprogressbar.app. Public pages: myprogressbar.app/privacy, /terms, /help, /delete-account.
Summary
- You can use the App offline without an account; data stays on your device.
- If you sign in, we store your account and synced progress in Supabase (cloud hosting).
- Signed-in Free owned sync is capped (5 active · 10 lists · lifetime creates 25, or 10 after a paid Plus period ends · up to 3 Life Reminders). Plus raises those caps (10 · 25 · 25 creates/UTC month · up to 10 Life Reminders), backs up attachments (100 MB), and includes monthly AI drafts (30/month).
- Lists you join also count toward Active and Lists, and still use separate Joined / Trackers-to-join caps (Free 5 joined · 5 waiting; Plus 10 · 10). Create meters are owned lists only. Owner Archive holds up to 5 lists for 24 hours each.
- On Free, photos and PDFs stay on your device only (~20 MB total) and are deleted if you sign out; Plus backs them up to the cloud (100 MB).
- Attachment files on a completed or archived tracker are automatically deleted after 90 days on Free; on Plus you may turn on Keep finished photos to skip that purge (files still count toward quota). The tracker and your progress remain. The App warns you when the 90-day schedule applies.
- If Plus ends, cloud attachments stay view/download for 30 days, then inaccessible until day 60, when we purge them if you are still Free. Trackers stay under Free soft caps — we do not wipe lists to fit Free (see Terms).
- If you share a tracker, people who join can see that list’s progress and related content (including Assign tags); what they can change depends on the access you set (View only, Some people can edit, or Editable for all).
- Friends and people on lists you share with may see your plan tier (for example Free or Plus) as a tint on avatars — so they can tell who can hold cloud attachments or take a transfer. We do not share payment card numbers, prices, or renewal dates with them.
- In-app Calendar / Schedule show due dates from your progress data on the device and do not access your phone calendar. Optional Add to Calendar only creates an event when you choose it. Optional Sync to phone calendar (signed in) writes dues into a dedicated My Progress Bar calendar on the device when you tap Sync — we do not read your other calendars, and the id map stays on the device.
- AI drafts: when assist is available, you pick Checklist, Target, or Life Reminder first; Fill with AI then sends your prompt text to OpenAI via our servers when you tap Generate — suggestions only, not professional advice. Optional mic dictation converts speech to text on your device; we do not upload audio.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- Plus subscriptions are billed by Apple/Google; we use RevenueCat for status — not your card number.
- You can delete local data from the App when available; request cloud deletion by email or the delete-account page.
Who we are
My Progress Bar is operated under the My Progress Bar brand. Contact support@myprogressbar.app. When a registered legal entity and mailing address are available, they will be listed here and in our Terms.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Email address and password — when you create an account or sign in (passwords are handled by our authentication provider; we do not store plain-text passwords).
- Profile — your display name and an optional avatar picked from a preset set, synced with your account. Your display name is shown to Friends and people on lists you share; the avatar is not shown to others at this time.
- Progress data — trackers (including Life Reminders), steps, notes, optional Assign tags (free-text names and member/friend ids), organizations, packages, invitations, preferences (theme, notifications, Coach tip prefs), and activity you create in the App.
- AI prompts — when you use AI draft features (sent to OpenAI via our Edge Function).
Information on your device
- App content and settings in local device storage for offline use (includes local prefs such as Home pins and Coach tip state).
- Home Glance widget snapshot in on-device shared storage (iOS App Group / Android shared preferences) — read-only glance from lists already on this device.
- Sign-in session tokens in secure device storage.
Automatic / optional
- Sync metadata (timestamps, identifiers) when you use cloud sync.
- Plus widget light pull: up to twice per local day for Shared/Joined list ids already shown on Home Glance — not full sync, not friends graph, not Free.
- Local due-date reminders if you enable Due dates (scheduled on your device).
- Social invite pushes if you enable Friends & list invites while signed in (Expo push token stored to deliver friend / list invite alerts; removed on sign-out or when Off). Banner text may include the sender’s display name and list title only.
- Crash / error reports via Sentry in store and preview builds: device and app metadata, the error type and stack trace, and a random per-install identifier (not your account, email, or advertising ID). We filter emails and invite tokens and do not attach screenshots, typed text, or console logs; an error message can occasionally include a word from the screen where it happened. Always on in store builds (no in-app switch).
- Microphone if you dictate an AI prompt (on-device speech-to-text only; no audio upload).
- Device calendar only if you tap Add to Calendar (one event) or Sync to phone calendar (dedicated My Progress Bar calendar; write-only; id map stays on device). We do not read your other events. In-app Calendar / Schedule do not use this permission until you choose those actions.
- Subscription status via RevenueCat when you purchase or restore Plus. Coarse plan tier may be shown to Friends and accepted share peers as an avatar tint (not card numbers, prices, or renewal dates).
- AI usage counts for Free trial and Plus quotas.
We do not collect precise location or contacts. Payment card numbers are processed by Apple or Google, not by us. On Free, photos and PDFs you attach stay on your device only and are deleted if you sign out or lose the device. On Plus, those files are stored in cloud storage linked to your account (100 MB). Finished-tracker attachment auto-delete (90 days) is described under Attachments.
Attachments
- Free — attachments remain on-device only (~20 MB total) and are not uploaded. Signing out or uninstalling permanently removes them from that device.
- Plus — attachments are stored in Supabase Storage under your account (up to 100 MB) and can be restored when you sign in elsewhere.
- Finished trackers — by default, attachment files are automatically deleted after 90 days. On Free the purge always runs. On Plus you may turn on Keep finished photos to skip it (files still count toward the cloud quota). The tracker and your progress remain. We show an in-app warning when the 90-day schedule starts. Export or save copies of receipts or documents you need to keep permanently.
AI drafts
When assist is available (signed in with Free trial or Plus quota), you pick Checklist, Target, or Life Reminder first, then use Fill with AI. When you tap Generate, your prompt text is sent to our Supabase Edge Function, which calls OpenAI (currently gpt-4o-mini) to fill that type. We log usage counts for quotas — not for advertising.
Optional microphone dictation converts speech to text on your device. We do not upload audio recordings to My Progress Bar or OpenAI. The resulting text stays in the prompt field until you choose Generate.

AI output is a draft only. It is not medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. Review and edit suggestions before relying on them.
Shared trackers
- People who accept your invite can see that tracker’s name, steps (including Assign tags — free-text names you type and people you tag), progress, notes, comments, and activity on that list.
- Friends and people on lists you share with may also see each other’s coarse plan tier (for example Free or Plus) as a tint on avatars — so they can tell who can hold cloud attachments or take a transfer. We do not share payment card numbers, prices, receipts, or renewal dates with them.
- As the owner, you choose how much they can change: View only (see the list; no check-offs, notes edits, or new Updates), Some people can edit (you grant Can edit per person), or Editable for all. Changing the list’s structure stays with the owner (or Editors you promote). You may also turn on Lock on checklist / Life Reminder items so Members with Can edit may change only items they are assigned to (or rows you unlock); Editors and the owner remain unrestricted. Visibility of the list is unchanged.
- You can also limit who may invite others onto that list (everyone, people with Can edit, or owner only).
- Attachment files follow the owner’s plan (Free = owner’s device; Plus = owner’s cloud quota), including the 90-day finished-tracker rule. Members with Can edit can add or remove attachments only when the owner has Plus cloud backup for that list.
- Invite links let others request to join until you revoke the invite or remove them (subject to any approval setting you enable).
- Joining a shared list does not automatically create a Friend.
- Removing someone from Friends does not remove them from shared lists (and leaving a list does not remove the Friend). To cut list access, revoke the invite or remove them from that list in the App.
- When a member leaves or is removed, they lose list access. Item Assign tags for them that pointed at their account become free-text names on those items until you Unassign (so a work note can remain without implying they are still on the list).
- Ownership changes: You may transfer ownership to someone who can edit (they apply; you confirm), including while a deleted list is in your 24-hour Archive (transfer can start automatically when recovery is on). If a list has no owner for a short time (for example after Archive ends without a transfer, delete with recovery off, or you delete your account while someone opted in to be notified), an eligible member may Become owner of the same list. Attachment files then move under the new owner’s plan and storage. We do not create a second personal copy of the same shared list for members.
- Only share lists that do not contain information you want to keep private from those people.
- You can change access, revoke invites, and remove members in the App. Report abuse to support@myprogressbar.app.
Data retention
- On your device — until you clear app data, uninstall, or use in-app clear options. Free attachments are device-only and removed if you sign out.
- In the cloud — tracker progress while your account exists and you use sync (subject to Free/Plus sync caps; excess lists are soft-grandfathered after Plus ends — see Terms).
- Attachments on finished trackers — Free: auto-deleted 90 days after complete or archive; Plus: optional Keep finished photos skips purge (counts toward quota); progress stays.
- Cloud attachments after Plus ends — view/download for 30 days, inaccessible days 31–60, then purged from our cloud if still Free.
- AI prompts — processed to generate a response; we retain usage counts for quotas, not advertising profiles.
- Backups — Supabase may retain backups per their policies for a limited period after deletion.
Plus subscription
If you purchase Plus, payment is processed by Apple or Google. Subscription status is verified through RevenueCat. We store your plan tier and renewal date on your profile. Coarse plan tier (avatar tint) may be visible to Friends and accepted share peers — not card numbers, prices, receipts, or renewal dates. An optional 7-day free trial converts to paid automatically unless canceled before it ends — see our Terms of Service for prices and billing. RevenueCat privacy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
Cloud sync (optional)
Cloud sync is optional. When signed in, data is sent over HTTPS to Supabase for hosting and authentication (United States). Row Level Security limits access to your data and shared data you are permitted to see. You can use the App without signing in. Supabase privacy: https://supabase.com/privacy
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Supabase — cloud database, authentication, and attachment storage for signed-in users.
- OpenAI — AI draft generation from your prompts (when you use AI).
- RevenueCat — subscription purchase verification (not payment card data).
- Sentry — crash and error diagnostics (random per-install identifier; emails and invite tokens filtered).
- Apple / Google — in-app purchase billing.
- People you share with / Friends — tracker content on lists you invite them to (visibility always; edits only if you grant Can edit / Editable for all). Coarse plan tier (avatar tint) with Friends and accepted share peers — not payment card numbers, prices, or renewal dates.
- Expo / EAS — app builds and distribution (not your tracker content).
- Legal requirements — when required by law.
